Ayurvedic Care for Diabetic Neuropathy in Bangalore
Doctor-led Ayurvedic care for diabetic nerve pain focused on easing burning and numbness, restoring sensation, and protecting long-term foot health.
Key Outcomes
When the nerves are supported instead of only silenced, the difference shows up in ordinary, everyday ways.
Understanding Diabetic Neuropathy
It usually starts small. A faint tingling in the toes you put down to sitting awkwardly. Then the burning that arrives only at night, just as you are trying to sleep. Then the day you realise you did not feel the pebble in your shoe, or the water was far hotter than you thought. Most people are told it is a normal part of having diabetes for a long time and handed something for the pain.
In medical terms, diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage caused by prolonged exposure to raised blood sugar. The longest nerves are affected first, which is why it almost always begins in the feet and moves upward over years. It shows up as burning, numbness, pricking, or a loss of sensation - and that loss is the real risk, because an injury that cannot be felt is an injury that goes untreated.
Ayurveda reads this as a complication of Madhumeha, where long-standing imbalance depletes the tissues and leaves aggravated Vata governing the nerves without support. Ama blocks the finer channels that carry nourishment to the extremities, and where Pitta is also involved, the burning and heat of Padadaha appear. The numbness is Supti, the pricking is Toda. Treatment therefore works on two fronts at once - steadying the metabolism underneath, and nourishing and calming the Vata driving the symptoms.

Causes of Diabetic Neuropathy
Neuropathy is not caused by one bad reading. In assessment, our doctors trace the factors that have quietly damaged the nerves over the years.
Years of Raised Blood Sugar
Sustained high glucose damages the small blood vessels feeding the nerves, starving them slowly until signals begin to fail.
Duration of Diabetes
The longer diabetes has been present, especially where it went undiagnosed for years, the higher the likelihood of nerve involvement.
Poor Circulation to the Extremities
Reduced blood flow to the feet means less oxygen and nourishment reaching the nerves that need it most.
Vitamin B12 Depletion
Long-term metformin use and a restricted diet can both lower B12, and low B12 produces neuropathy of its own on top of the diabetic damage.
High BP, Cholesterol & Smoking
Each independently narrows and damages small vessels, and together they accelerate nerve damage considerably.
Alcohol Intake
Alcohol is directly toxic to nerve tissue and compounds the damage already underway.
Kidney Involvement
As kidney function declines, waste products accumulate and add a second source of nerve irritation.
The Ayurvedic Approach
Where conventional pain management often focuses on suppressing nerve pain, our approach works on both the metabolism underneath and the nerves themselves, all carried out under physician supervision.
Root-Cause Assessment
A detailed evaluation of your sugar control history, Vata state, and degree of sensation loss to understand what is truly driving the nerve involvement.

“The burning in my feet at night had reached the point where I was sleeping maybe three hours. My physician looked at the whole picture, including a B12 level nobody had ever checked. Six weeks in, I am sleeping through most nights.”

“I had stopped feeling my toes properly and had been told to simply live with it. The therapies were gentle and carefully supervised, and the foot care advice alone was worth the visit. Some of the sensation has come back.”
