Understanding Cervical Pain
You must have tried the painkillers, the heat patches, the cervical collar, and maybe a round of physiotherapy. The stiffness lifts for a day or two, then the same ache settles back at the base of your neck. Cervical pain has quietly become one of the most common complaints of desk-and-screen life and one of the most routinely brushed aside as just tension.
In medical terms, cervical pain is discomfort in the neck region of the spine, where seven small vertebrae carry the weight of the head and let it move. It can be muscular, from strain and sustained tension, or structural, from disc wear, degenerative change, or a nerve being pinched. Left unaddressed, it can radiate into the shoulders, arms, and head.
Ayurveda sees this differently. Cervical pain is read as Manyastambha or Greeva Graha, a condition driven chiefly by aggravated Vata governing the nerves and movement, often worsened by Ama blocking the channels of the neck. Instead of silencing the pain again and again, our physicians work to find and correct what keeps setting it off.

Causes of Cervical Pain
Cervical pain is rarely one single thing. In assessment, our doctors trace the mix of factors that have worn your neck down over time.
Screen Posture & Tech Neck
Every hour spent looking down at a phone or laptop drags the head forward and multiplies the strain your neck has to hold
Disc & Degenerative Wear
Ageing discs and joints, or a bulging disc, can press on a nerve and send pain travelling into the arm
Muscle Tension & Stress
Stress, poor pillow height, and awkward sleeping angles keep the neck muscles knotted and quick to spasm
Weak Support & Sitting All Day
A weak upper back and core leave the neck doing the work it was never meant to do alone
Old Injury or Repeated Strain
A past whiplash, fall, or years of the same movement can leave the cervical spine fragile long after
The Ayurvedic Approach
Conventional care tends to mute the pain for a while. Our approach, carried out entirely under physician supervision, goes after the reason it is there.
Root-Cause Assessment
A careful read of your history, Prakriti, dosha state, posture, and your daily screen and sleep habits to find what is straining the neck.
Pacifying Vata, Clearing Ama
Treatment focused on calming the aggravated Vata and clearing the Ama that keeps the neck stiff and the pain returning.
Classical Panchakarma Therapies
Time-tested treatments such as Greeva Basti, Abhyanga, and Nasya to ease pain, release knotted muscles, and free up movement.
Diet & Lifestyle Correction
Down-to-earth guidance on posture, screen setup, ergonomics, and routine to lift the load off the neck and stop the cycle.
Our Approach
A structured, doctor-led path from assessment to measurable recovery.

“Coding nine hours a day left my neck permanently locked, with a headache every evening. The doctor pinned it on posture and tension, not age, and the plan made sense. Turning to check my blind spot while driving no longer makes me wince.”
